Privacy, kept in view.

Waypoint is designed to help you focus without turning your attention into a product. We do not sell personal information, show advertising, or track you across other companies' apps and websites.

Who is responsible for your information

Waypoint Digital Safety, operated by Darren Bracken at 51 Bracken Road, Sandyford, Dublin, D18 CV48, Ireland, is responsible for the personal information described in this policy. You can contact us at darren@way-point.ie.

Information Waypoint uses

How we use information

We use this information only to provide and secure the app: to maintain your account, apply your settings, show progress, deliver trusted-contact invitations and WaySignal messages, provide temporary live location sharing, answer support requests, and improve reliability.

Location sharing and safety

A WaySignal starts only when you choose a trusted contact and confirm sharing. The recipient receives a temporary link and can acknowledge that they have seen it. The latest point replaces the previous point rather than creating a route history. Live coordinates and the public access token are cleared when the signal ends, expires, or fails. Service-provider security logs and backups may be retained for a limited period where needed for security, recovery, or legal obligations.

WaySignal is a support feature, not an emergency service. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services.

Service providers and disclosure

Waypoint uses Apple for sign-in, Screen Time controls, notifications, app distribution, subscriptions, and payment processing; Supabase for authentication and secure cloud data; and Twilio for trusted-contact and WaySignal messaging. These providers process information under their own security and legal obligations. We may also disclose information where required by law or to protect a person's safety and rights.

Legal bases

Where the EU or UK GDPR applies, we process core account and focus data to perform our contract with you, optional diary backup and location sharing with your consent, and limited security and product-operation data for our legitimate interests in keeping Waypoint safe and reliable. You can withdraw optional permissions in the app or iPhone Settings.

Retention and deletion

We keep account data while your account is active and only as long as needed afterwards for security, dispute resolution, and legal obligations. Temporary WaySignal coordinates are cleared as described above. You can delete your Waypoint account from Settings; this revokes the app's Apple authorization and removes account-linked Waypoint data from the active service. You can also contact us for access, correction, portability, restriction, objection, or deletion requests.

Your choices

You control Screen Time, notifications, location permission, optional diary backup, trusted contacts, and account deletion. You may also have the right to complain to Ireland's Data Protection Commission or your local supervisory authority.

Age

The initial public version of Waypoint is for people aged 16 or older. It is not offered as a child-directed service and is not listed in the App Store Kids category. A future family pathway will require separate guardian-consent and safeguarding work.

Changes

We may update this policy as Waypoint changes. We will update the effective date and provide an in-app notice when a change materially affects how personal information is used.
